5 Ways to Live With more INTENTION

Each morning you have the chance to design your life. Are you simply drifting through life or are you living in alignment with your goals, beliefs and values? Intention is shifting your energy towards an aim or a plan. It is something you want to do and plan to do. It is the creative power to fulfill a need: relationships, love, spirituality, wealth, intelligence. To live with intention is to bring meaning and deliberate action to your days. Every day presents you with a new opportunity to grow as a being. Living each day purposefully will not only make you happier but will also allow you to reach new milestones.

3 Simple Reminders to become more intentional and aware:

1- life is a series of choices: We don’t always choose the circumstances that arise but we have the ability to control how we react and respond. Feeling powerless is a subtle reminder that we need to look at our situation a different way. You will always hold the power to choose your comeback.

2- Discover Yourself: It’s important to self-examine yourself to figure out what it is you really want out of your life. Think of you goals and values; how can you bring yourself closer to reaching your potential everyday? A good question to ask yourself is “is this activity/situation bringing me one step closer to making my dream into a reality?”

3- Who Surrounds You: It is important to self-evaluate the culture around you. There is a constant flow of people that come in and out of your life. Consider if the people that you share your daily activities with are moving in the same direction as you. Are you surrounding with like-minded individuals?

5 simple ways to shift into a state of intention:

1. Gratitude
Gratitude is the key to receiving more of what you appreciate. Once you are grateful what you already have, more of that will flow into your life. Don’t look at the material things you don’t have or want. Instead count your blessings for the fortunate circumstance you are living.

2. One Task At A Time
The best way to get one task done is to focus your energy on it until it’s finished. Although you might feel productive when you multi-task, it’s always more rewarding to finish the task at hand. Be disciplined to single task, if another to-do comes up write it down on a list. One task at a time can also mean staying in the moment when you are having a conversation with a friend. Engage in eye contact and resist the urge to grab your phone.

3. Explore your Purpose
Is there something that you are passionate about or that you like to do in your spare time? Find a side hustle (that can become your full time hustle!). It can be anything small or big like starting a traveler instagram page to doing a yoga teacher training.

4. Control Your Time
Make this year about your self-care. Putting yourself on the back burner won’t make you accomplish more. In the end you will be the one loosing out if you don’t prioritize your needs. It’s sometimes necessary to say no and to reevaluate where you spend your time. Make decisions based on the value of your time instead of the monetary gain.

5. Be a Goal-Getter!
Being a goal-setter shapes and moves us towards achieving them. The most valuable thing is knowing what you want. Once you know what you want you can easily see what is a waste of your time. Shift that energy to embark on new adventures while staying in alignment with your intention.
